To enjoy all the welfare facilities provided by the Government of India, every Indian Citizen needs Aadhar Card. Aadhar Card acts as Proof of Address (POA) and Proof of Identification (POI) for every individual. It holds a 12-digit unique Aadhar number which is issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).

Once an individual submits his application for an Aadhar Card, he will be able to download and print e-Aadhar Card before he actually receives the Aadhar Card. This can be done using Enrollment ID, Virtual ID or Aadhar Number!

Download Aadhar Card by Aadhar Number

To download your e-Aadhar using Aadhar Number, follow these steps:

Download Aadhaar

  1. Visit UIDAI’s Official Website and click on Download Aadhaar under my Aadhaar Section or directly visit: https://eaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/
  2. Under “I Have Section”, select Aadhaar.
  3. Now, Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number as provided by UIDAI.

  4. Mark the “I want a masked Aadhar” checkbox if you don’t want to show full digits of your Aadhar number.
  5. Enter the Captcha Code from the image provided.
  6. Now, click on Send OTP (One Time Password). (Link Aadhar Card with Mobile Number)
  7. An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number.
  8. Now, Enter the OTP from your mobile number.
  9. Take a quick survey by answering a few questions.
  10. At last, click on Verify And Download to download the e-Aadhaar Card.
  11. e-Aadhaar will now be downloaded!

Download Aadhar Card by Virtual ID (VID)

To download your e-Aadhar using Virtual ID, follow these steps:

  1. Visit UIDAI’s Official Website and click on Download Aadhaar under my Aadhaar Section or directly visit: https://eaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/
  2. Under “I Have Section”, select Virtual ID (VID).  (Generate / Retrieve VID)
  3. Now, Enter your 16-digit VID number.
  4. Mark the “I want a masked Aadhar” checkbox if you don’t want to show full digits of your Aadhar number.
  5. Enter the Captcha Code from the image provided.
  6. Now, click on Send OTP (One Time Password).
  7. An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number.
  8. Now, Enter the OTP from your mobile number.
  9. At last, click on Verify And Download to download the e-Aadhaar Card.
  10. e-Aadhaar will now be downloaded!

Download Aadhar Card by Enrolment ID (EID)

To download your e-Aadhar using Enrolment ID (EID), follow these steps:

  1. Visit UIDAI’s Official Website and click on Download Aadhaar under my Aadhaar Section or directly visit: https://eaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/
  2. Under “I Have Section”, select Virtual ID (VID). (How to find EID?)
  3. Now, Enter your 14-digit EID number and 14-digit Date-Time Stamp as printed on the Enrolment Slip.
  4. Mark the “I want a masked Aadhar” checkbox if you don’t want to show full digits of your Aadhar number.
  5. Enter the Captcha Code from the image provided.
  6. Now, click on Send OTP (One Time Password).
  7. An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number.
  8. Now, Enter the OTP from your mobile number.
  9. At last, click on Download Aadhaar to download the e-Aadhaar Card.
  10. e-Aadhaar will now be downloaded!

How to Print e-Aadhar Card?

Once you have downloaded the e-Aadhar card, you can then print it and use it as it is valid as the Aadhar card itself. To open the e-Aadhar card letter, you will have to enter the 8-digit password.

The 8-digit password consists of:

  • First Four Letters of Your Name in CAPITALS
  • Your Birth Year

e.g:

Name: SURESH KUMAR
Year of Birth: 1990
Password: SURE1990

Example 2
Name: D. KUMAR
Year of Birth: 1990
Password: D.KU1990

Example 3
Name: IRA
Year of Birth: 1990
Password: IRA1990

As the downloaded e-Aadhar will be password protected so, once you enter the password, you will be able to able to print the e-Aadhar using a printing device. It is better to use e-Aadhar as it is as valid as the Aadhar card itself and in case you lose it, you can always download the e-Aadhar card again anytime you want to.
